2016 GIV Pinot Noir
The wine pours a beautiful dusty ruby color with abundant berry and cherry notes in the glass. The palate is rich with remarkably velvety tannins and a firm backbone of acidity. We love this wine in the fall as it pairs perfectly with all types of fall dishes.
The 2016 Pinot Noir is a markedly richer and more extracted Pinot Noir than the previous vintage. The fruit was incredibly concentrated in flavor and tannin. However, following an extended maceration on skins, we were able to produce the concentrated but supple Pinot that we are proud to be release to you. Ed and I really enjoyed making this wine and it marks the first red wine released that was harvested, vinted, and bottled at Grand Island Vineyards.
